A Blog of Wrath

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
--John Stuart Mill

Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. You won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
--Gen. George S. Patton

If we don't want the world's wealth to be controlled by people with money then the alternative is to have the world's wealth controlled by people with guns. Governments have plenty of guns.
--P.J. O'Rourke

Beer is evidence that G-d loves us and wants us to be happy.
--Ben Franklin

Did anyone see "the practice" last night? I don't what Dave was talking about here but . . . well . . . "ripped from the headlines"?

By the way, what happens to all the old posts of this site? I don't seem to quite understand how the archives work, i can't remember being able to find stuff. Is there a limit to how long posts are saved indefinitely? Is it possible to export all of the old blogs into text files?
(After i am a "famous author" i'd like to make it easy on the poor bloke who writes his dissertation on me, so that he can get ahold of my posts to this site as well as my posts to wcenter@ymail. I need to send the files to the Library of Congress for safekeeping.)
This picture isn't quite the way i've always pictured it; maybe contains some innacuracies--not consistent with the unknown author's description.

Just reading "The Library of Babel" for the third time (or re-reading it for the second--though perhaps third--time), and i'm thinking though neither the unknown author nor the editor ever mention it, surely the books of the universe are printed on acid free paper?
When was acid free paper invented?
